Federal Judge issues Temporary Restraining Order against Douglas County regarding Vacation Home Rental Permit Holders, Residents

Last Saturday the Carson City Search and Rescue team performed an area familiarization in the Goni area. Taking out three of our Unit owned pieces of rolling stock and a couple of POVs we put our four newest members behind the steering wheel. The recent snow combined with an overnight low of only 42 in the city generated some interesting and very changeable trail conditions.

Could we be in the dog days of January? Sunday is shaping up to be absolutely gorgeous and unseasonably warm for this time of year with a forecast high of 61 degrees and mostly sunny skies.

Even though we are still in the middle of Winter, that doesn't mean we shouldn't enjoy beautiful, Spring-like weather while lasts.

Sunday should be a great day to be out and about, so come to the Foundation for Carson City Parks and Recreation’s open house at the Wungnema House, Sunday afternoon from 2-5 p.m. There is no admission fee, and all are welcome.

A 34 year-old man and 49 year-old woman, both homeless, were arrested Friday morning at about 10 a.m. in the 3200 block of Market Street on multiple misdemeanor offenses, a Carson City Sheriff's deputy reported, including littering and obstruction.

Stop the presses! Wild Horse Children’s Theater looking for actors, singers and dancers, ages 8-21, for the Northern Nevada premiere of the Disney film turned Tony-winning Broadway hit, "Newsies."

Ryker is a three-year-old Spinone Italiano and Carson City native, and he is on his way to the Westminster Dog Show in New York as America's number one Spinone for 2018 with a handful of championship wins under his belt.

A 25-year-old Carson City man was arrested in the area of Sherman and Highway 50 on multiple felonies, including eluding with endangerment and assault with a deadly weapon on a peace officer. Misdemeanor charges included resisting a public officer, reckless driving, and failure to use due care.

Friends of the Carson City Library is looking for ways to better serve the community, and, in turn, better support the library.

The organization, which provides funding to the Carson City Library, is asking the community to take a survey.

Reno Orthopedic Clinic (ROC) held a ribbon-cutting ceremony celebrating its newest facility at 1365 Medical Parkway in Carson City Thursday evening.

On Thursday, Jan. 24 19-year-old Wilbur Ernesto Martinez-Guzman made his first court appearance in Carson City Justice Court before Judge Tom Armstrong.

Martinez-Guzman was arrested last Saturday in connection with the four murders which occurred mid January between Gardnerville and South Reno.

However, in Carson City Justice Court Martinez-Guzman faced charges of burglary, obtaining money under false pretenses, possessing several of the victims property including stolen firearms, among other charges.

A total of 36 charges were alleged against Martinez-Guzman in Carson City.
