Four restaurants cited for health code violations in Carson City

The Carson City Health Department's inspections this week returned with four restaurants in violation. Scores of 0 translate to full compliance with health department food safety codes.
Battle Born Social was cited for a critical violation during its June 19 health inspection.
According to the report, the inspector observed raw meats not segregated by cooking temperatures, and eggs that were stored above ready-to-eat foods, in violation of Code 010.
Raw animal products must be stored according to their required cook temperatures. For example, seafood and eggs must be stored above whole muscle meats, whole muscle meats above ground meats, and raw chicken must not be stored above any other food.

The Mallards Empire Ranch Golf Restaurant was cited for three non critical violations on June 19 during their inspection.
Violations are as follows:
Food in good condition, safe, and unadulterated
Approved thawing methods
Proper cold holding temperatures.
According to the report, there was a critical violation of spoiled food which was not quarantined for disposal. The health inspector observed sausages in the reach in that were over a week and half past use by date.
The second violation was potentially hazardous foods held at temperatures that support micro-organism growth. Specifically, the inspector observed potentially hazardous foods stored in a cooler that was not holding temperatures below 41 degrees.

The Golden Gate Gas Convenience Store was cited for a non-critical violation during its June 18 inspection. The hand wash sink was blocked and not easily accessible for employees.
Overall score: 5
Sierra Tortilla was cited for a non-critical violation. There were no disposable paper hand towels at one of the two employee hand wash sinks.
