Donor matches dollar for dollar giving to The Greenhouse Project sustainability fundraiser
The Greenhouse Project in Carson City is busy working toward creating financial sustainability and needs the community’s help to get there. It is TGP’s mission to educate future farmers while also providing fresh produce to area food banks.
There are two ways you can help.
Through July 31, every dollar donated to TGP will be matched by a generous donor from Reno.
That means whatever you give will be doubled, helping TGP reach its endowment goal of $1 million more quickly and efficiently, but time is short!
The other way is to simply support TGP’s Grow It Forward Campaign, which will continue accepting donations indefinitely.
The sooner you give, the greater impact your donation will have.
“Since covid, TGP has had to redesign our fundraising approach and wanted to create ways that would allow everyone to be a part of this crucial work,” said Karen Abowd, TGP founder and president. “While donations through our Grow It Forward Campaign are wonderful, any giving that is done in the next few weeks will have even greater impact thanks to the generosity of our matching donor.”
In addition to these public campaigns, TGP has also implemented a Native Plant Nursery & Composting program at the Green Central site on the Carson High School campus, not only to expand educational opportunities, but to establish sustainable funding streams while also creating an environmentally sound approach to reducing the school district’s pre-cooked food waste. It is intended that this program ill eventually include area restaurants. The Native Plant Nursery will bring locally grown and acclimated plants to you via area retailers.
