Carson City woman arrested for DUI drugs after causing three car collision Friday afternoon
A 51-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Friday afternoon in the area of Silver Sage and Sonoma for DUI drugs, failure to maintain lane, and failure to use due care, which resulted in a three car collision.
The woman was arrested after deputies responded to a traffic accident in which the driver who caused the accident appeared to be under the influence, according to the report.
The woman struck two stopped vehicles at the intersection of Silver Sage and Sonoma Street. According to the report, she failed to stop for stopped traffic and her vehicle was in the through travel lane at the point of collision.
Deputies questioned the woman using questions from the Carson City Under the Influence form. When deputies asked the woman if she knew what time it was, she attempted to answer the question by looking at the deputy’s watch. When they asked her if she knew where she was, she attempted to look at the street signs to answer the question, and told deputies she was a few blocks from her home.
Deputies noted she had a visible shake to her body, and slurred speech. She told deputies she had a bad knee and had taken Xanax earlier in the day, and had just recently taken a Methadone pill.
She was taken into custody for driving under the influence of drugs.

— A 60-year-old Carson City man was arrested Friday afternoon for advertising without a contractor’s license, engaging in business without a license, and obstructing an officer.
According to the police report, the man was arrested after deputies were investigating an illegal living situation with an RV. The RV was allegedly parked too close to the roadway, and was illegally being used as a living space.
After running a wants and warrants check on the occupant, dispatch advised that the man had three warrants for his arrest with a “book and bail” bail condition, issued July 12, 2018.
According to deputies, the man had advertised on Craigslist looking for work that “require’s a contractor’s license,” which he did not have. He then allegedly “submitted a bid for tile work” on a home in Carson City, without a tiling license.
He then refused to provide his driver’s license to the deputy during the July incident, and was additionally charged with obstruction.
He was taken into custody without incident.
— A 31-year-old Carson City man was arrested Friday evening for DUI first and “speeds to fast for conditions” in the area of Airport and Nye Roads.
The man was arrested after deputies were dispatched to College Parkway and Nye for a non-injury vehicle accident.
Upon arrival, deputies spoke to one of the driver, who said he was at fault for the accident. He told deputies he was going to fast around the corner and due to the rain, he spun out and hit the oncoming vehicle.
Deputies noted he had the smell of an alcoholic beverage coming from his breath, and he admitted to having two shots within the last hour.
He provided a PBT of .114 percent BAC.
At the detention center, he provided two additional tests which resulted in .089 percent BAC and .077 percent BAC.
He was taken into custody without incident.

Warrants:
— A 27-year-old Carson City man received an additional charge while in custody at the Carson City Jail for possession of a dangerous weapon, issued out of Carson City Justice Court.
The warrant for Joshua Douglas Counsil was issued on May 21.
Additional bail: $15,000
