Carson City Fire Department knock down structure fire at Glenbrook Circle near King Street
Carson City Fire Department and sheriff's deputies were called early Wednesday afternoon to a report of a structure fire at a home on Glenbrook Circle.
The call came into dispatch at around 12:15 p.m. of a structure fire at a home. Arriving firefighters report heavy smoke coming from the side of the home. Occupants inside have evacuated.
The fire is believed to have been caused by burning brush from outside of the residence but this hasn't been confirmed. Flames from the brush were then believed to have reached the exterior of the house and then to the roof.
This is a working incident. Firefighters are up on the rooftop of the home, and much of the structure's smoke is gone.
Carson City Sheriff's deputies are providing traffic control on Ormsby Boulevard and King Street.
Update 12:59PM: Fire appears to be under control, and crews are completing extinguishment, said Carson City Fire Chief Sean Slamon. Central Lyon Fire Protection District and East Fork Fire Protection District also responded to provide assistance. The fire had heavy involvement in the attic. Crews hit the fire quickly and made initial knock-down. See video below or go here.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation. A fire investigator has been called to the scene.
