Vice President Harris to visit University of Nevada Tuesday
According to University of Nevada President Brian Sandoval, U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris will be visiting the UNR campus on Tuesday.
"This is an historic official White House visit for our institution," Sandoval wrote in an address to students. "Vice President Harris’ talk on Tuesday presents the University with a memorable opportunity for our students, faculty, staff and friends and from northern Nevada to see our nation’s 49th Vice President in person. As a major public university with a long record of achievement that includes the Carnegie R1 “Very High Research” classification, we are an excellent forum for a discussion of issues that are vital to our understanding of our world."
Students are invited to attend and can sign up via an email that was sent out to actively enrolled students. Unfortunately due to limited seating, not everyone who applies will be able to attend, so students are encouraged to enroll sooner rather than later.
"We are very fortunate to have this opportunity of hosting Vice President Harris at the University," Sandoval wrote. "Please join me in offering her a warm Wolf Pack Welcome!"
The last Vice President to visit the campus was then-VP Joe Biden when he served with President Barack Obama in Oct. 2010.
