Carson High School Safe Grad cancelled for 2021, other celebrations for seniors in the works
Carson High School Safe Grad, the annual graduation celebration for seniors which generally includes a night of sober festivities as well as a senior trip, will be cancelled for the second year in a row due to COVID-19.
However, according to Safe Grad, the Senior Class of 2021 will still be honored in a variety of ways.
While some have yet to be announced, one in particular that was announced Friday is that on graduation day, each senior can find their own yard sign posted at the high school with their headshot.
In May, students will be able to pick up their sign to keep at their home.
For those families with a Carson High senior, safe grad requires a head shot of each senior.
All headshot photos must be sent to carsonhighsafegrad@gmail.com with the subject line as “student’s name/2021 photo” and must be sent in by April 27, 2021.
If you do not have a headshot of your senior, you can email the above email with “student’s name, 2021 photo needed” and Safe Grad will make arrangements for the senior to have their photo taken.
The Safe Grad booster committee will be meeting on Tuesday, April 13 at 6:30 p.m. for apprxomaitely one hour during which they will be discussing more of the gifts for the graduates.
You can stay up to date with new information on what is already in the works for Carson High seniors by visiting http://carsonhighsafegrad.com and click on the “Graduation Festivities” tab.
For the second year there will also be an “Adopt-a-Senior” program in which family and community members can adopt a senior and provide gifts to honor their educational achievement. You can find the group on facebook and parents can post their seniors within the group as well as any interests or present ideas for them.
