Golf tournament organized in memory of late Carson High teacher, coach
A golf tournament in memory of late Carson High School coach and teacher Shane Quilling will be held Sunday, April 15 at Arrow Creek Golf Club in South Reno.
The event is a benefit for the Quilling family, including the 18-year CHS educator's three children. Quilling passed away Feb. 24.
"Shane touched thousands of lives through teaching and coaching," a tournament flier distributed by the Carson City School District said. "Money raised will help pay for his daughter to attend school and then to help a Carson High student to attend college."
Check-in time for the Shane Quilling Memorial Golf Tournament is scheduled for 11 a.m. at Arrow Creek Country Club, 2905 Arrow Creek Parkway. Play begins at noon.
Registration fee is $100 per play or $375 per foursome. A boxed lunch and range balls are included with registration.
Those interested are asked to RSVP with Cassie Pete at Arrow Creek Country Club before Sunday, April 8. Call 775-850-4471, extension 209 to reserve a spot.
Checks should be made payable to the Carson City Schools Foundation, a 501(c)3 registered nonprofit that was created to increase student achievement through philanthropic investment and involvement.
