Carson City School Board to discuss academic calendar, funding, CTE education and more
The next Carson City School District School Board meeting will take place Tuesday, Jan. 24 beginning at 7 p.m. at the Robert ‘Bob’ Crowell Board Room within the Carson City Community Center.
Carson High School student Drea Cabral will be recognized as the CHS student selected to play with the Honors Performance Series at Carnegie Hall.
— The Board will hear reports on activities from Carson High School and Pioneer Academy, as well as a Nevada Association of School Boards update.
— A discussion and possible action will be held to approve academic credit for Career and Technical Education (CTE) coursework; Animal Systems-Life Science; and Plant Systems.
Similarly, a vote will be held on the approval to adopt marketing instructional materials for grades 9-12 for the district.
— The Board will vote on approval of the proposed district academic calendar for the 2023-2024 school year.
— An update will be provided on the November 2022 Final Report from the Nevada Commission on School Funding.
