History of Women’s Suffrage focus of Jan. 23 community meeting
CARSON CITY — The League of Women Voters of Northern Nevada will host a virtual community meeting on Jan. 23 from 10 am to noon. The meeting will tell the story of the fight for women’s suffrage starting with the history of the beginning of women’s battle to get the vote in America.
The presentation includes pro and con speeches from historical records and an explanation of when women of different ethnicities finally won the vote. “You might be surprised by what you didn’t know about these battles,” said Nancy Scott, LWV Northern Nevada president.
