Leading electrical trade association launches first IEC chapter in Nevada
ARLINGTON, VA — Independent Electrical Contractors — a nationally recognized trade association specializing in apprenticeship training — today announced the launch of its newest chapter in the Northern Nevada area. This is the first IEC Chapter in Nevada which is in the state capitol of Carson City.
The Northern Nevada IEC Chapter will continue the mission of the national organization by providing networking opportunities and fostering career and leadership development to members who work in and around the electrical industry.
Melissa Maguire, A.M. Smith Electric, has been named President of the new chapter. The founding board members also includes Jesse Olson, The Happy Outlet, as Vice-President, Jennifer Estrada, Jolt Electric, as Secretary, Rick Olivas, Olectric as Treasurer and Terry Roberts, Foothill Electric, Board Member.
“As the first IEC Chapter within the state of Nevada, we are excited to provide merit shop contractors access to apprenticeship training within Northern Nevada, while elevating the electrical industry as a lifelong career that starts paying immediately,” said Maguire. “Electrical contractors and skilled workforce are the backbone of our community, and we aim to provide much needed business training and networking resources within the area. Thank you to IEC National and our local contractors who have made this happen.”
