Pioneer Academy welcomes students to explore interests, starts roller skating club
Staff members at Pioneer Academy are always looking for the best ways to meet student needs and help students explore new interests. One of the more recently organized clubs at Pioneer is a perfect example of that.
In addition to Volleyball Club, Speech and Debate, Ski Team, and Leadership, Pioneer now has its very own Roller Skating Club.
Monica Ward, Pioneer Academy’s office manager and club advisor, has helped to inspire many students to pick up a pair of skates and try something new. The club meets 2-3 times a week after school and is open to students of all skill levels.
Ms. Ward’s enthusiasm and encouragement are some of the main reasons students enjoy skating around the gym. Beyond providing the time and the place for roller skating club, a generous grant has made it possible for Pioneer to provide roller skates for students to use.
A quality pair of roller skates can be quite expensive. With several pairs of skates on hand at the Pioneer campus, any student can participate in the club. Pioneer Roller Skating club knows how to “let the good times roll!”
