Something Rotten\, Jr.\, adapted from the hilarious hit Broadway sensation\, tells the story of two brothers\, Nick and Nigel Bottom who are desperate to write a hit play\, but are stuck in the shadow of the great William Shakespeare. When a local soothsayer foretells that the future of theatre involves singing\, dancing\, and acting at the same time\, Nick and Nigel set out to write the world’s very first musical. Set in the Shakespearean era\, Something Rotten is a mix of Shakespearean cheek\, modern comedy\, contemporary music\, and good old fashioned musical theatre. Hailed by Time Out New York as “the funniest musical comedy in at least 400 years\,” Something Rotten\, Jr. is a must-see\, and all that jazz. \n\n\n\nSomething Rotten\, Jr. features the talents of over 40 local youth grades 6-12. Leading the ensemble of colorful characters are Jimmy Award Nominee Micah Giron as Nick Bottom\, Benjamin Achoka as Nigel Bottom\, and Jackson Hendee as William Shakespeare. DESCRIPTION:The Levitt AMP Carson City Music Series will return Saturday\, June 20\, at the BAC Outdoor Festival Stage celebrating its 10 year anniversary of bringing free weekly concerts to the capital city. Concerts are scheduled at 7 p.m. Saturdays through Aug. 29. \n\n\n\nEvery Saturday (except July 4th)\, the concert will begin at 7 p.m. with a local opening act followed by the headliner at 8 p.m. Attendees may bring lawn chairs\, coolers and well-behaved\, leashed pets. Some picnic tables and bleacher seating will also be available. Before and during the event\, concertgoers can find children’s activities\, food trucks\, mobile bars and other activities. Accessible parking will be available. The concerts are free and open to all ages.  \n\n\n\nThe 2026 lineup includes Red Elvises on June 20\, Sambadá on June 27\, Indigenous on July 11\, The Vindys on July 18\, The Sam Chase on July 25\, Van Goat on Aug. 1\, Jakota Wass on Aug. 8\, Jelly Bread on Aug. 15\, The Young Dubliners on Aug. 22 and Mumbo Gumbo on Aug. 29.

The owners Keith Alan Barnett\, an internationally known musician who performs at many local venues\, and his wife Chrissi Barnett \, a bookkeeper and graphic artist\, opened Polecat Tavern almost two and ½ years ago on December 14th \, 2023\, just a day after Keith turned 65. “Most people think about retiring at age 65\, but I started a new business.” Keith says laughing. “It’s been great though\, I never knew there was so much talent in the area.” \n\n\n\nPolecat Tavern opens at 2pm daily\, and has live music up to 5 nights a week with Open Mics\, Acoustic Jams\, & Karaoke\, on Thursdays\, Fridays\, & Sundays. Solos\, Duos\, Trios\, and full bands play every Saturday night. The stage is always available whenever there’s nothing scheduled\, and lots of musicians will come in and jam or rehearse\, so you never know who you might catch playing when you come in. \n\n\n\n“We’ve expanded into the next suite in the center and now have pool tables and a board game & puzzle table. We also have casino video games at the bar with poker\, black jack and more. Since we are non-smoking\, it’s an comfortable alternative place to game without all that casino smoke and noise.” Keith says there’s also a Gaming Happy Hour from 4 to 8 every night with specials when certain gaming combos are hit. \n\n\n\nOur customers have referred to Polecat as the local ‘Cheers Bar” as well as a “Working Man’s” tavern. Many tell staff that this is their home away from home. It’s so comfortable\, welcoming and fun to come in and chat with staff and friends. Don’t forget the Happy Hour from 3-5pm daily\, where domestic beer and well beverages are only $3 each. \n\n\n\nThe Polecat Summer Concert Series begins at 7pm on June 6 th with The Gary Wheeler Band and runs through August 29 th every Saturday with Local Anthology closing out the series. Renowned for his extraordinary technique and expressive depth\, Vonsattel has been presenting a multi-year complete Beethoven sonatas cycle\, beginning in 2025 with Camerata Pacifica and continuing through the 2026–27 season with Music@Menlo and the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center.This program spans Beethoven’s early to heroic periods\, from the expansive Sonata No. 4 in E-flat Major\, Op. 7 “Grand”\, to the hauntingly lyrical “Moonlight” Sonata\, and the joyous “Waldstein” Sonata.
