What’s included with the venue? Where do guests gather? What should you think about when choosing vendors? What does this space actually feel like with your guest count and wedding style in mind? Bring your questions. We want you to ask them. \n\n\n\nMake progress on your planningWhether you just got engaged and have no idea where to begin\, are actively comparing venues\, or already have some of your wedding team booked\, the Open House gives you a chance to make several planning connections in one afternoon. \n\n\n\nTaste The Food From Our In-House CatererIf you’re already booked with Park Home Ranch for your big day\, now is a great opportunity to taste a few of the food options that will be available to you from our Park Home Ranch catering team. SUMMARY:HUMAN Alive in the AI Age: “Body” - TOCCATA Concerts
DESCRIPTION:Before the season asks its great question\, come meet the people who will spend the year answering it. BODY brings the audience close\, closer than a symphony concert usually allows. Part concert and part show-and-tell\, the evening lets our musicians step forward to introduce their instruments and reveal how the sound is truly made: horsehair drawn across gut\, breath split on a sharp edge\, a single reed crowing before it sings. Section by section they demonstrate their craft\, through a Brandenburg for strings\, a lone clarinet suspended in Messiaen\, a movement of Ravel\, and a wind quintet’s sea-shanties\, before winds and strings join for Louise Farrenc’s radiant Nonet\, a chamber masterpiece unjustly forgotten for a century and blazing back to life. \n\n\n\nBach: Brandenburg Concerto No. 3Messiaen: Quartet for the End of Time\, third movementRavel: String Quartet\, second movementMalcolm Arnold: Three ShantiesLouise Farrenc: Nonet \n\n\n\nHannah von WiehlerArtistic Director & Principal Conductor \n\n\n\nAbout the Series \n\n\n\nWhat\, exactly\, makes us human?  \n\n\n\nWe spend our days with machines that speak\, write\, and compose\, and the oldest question has become urgent again. This season looks for the answer in the one art form that cannot be automated without ceasing to exist. Four themed concerts climb the oldest ladder there is\, one rung at a time\, from the body\, to the elements our world is made of\, to the mind\, and finally inward\, to the soul. Around them stand the traditions that anchor our year\, and\, new this season\, Tahoe’s first opera. \n\n\n\nThis is not a season about artificial intelligence. It is a season about us\, and about the ancient conversation on who we are\, made newly urgent by the machines we are building. \n\n\n\nRenoDate: Friday\, October 9\, 2026Time: 6:30 PM – 8:00 PMLocation: St. John’s Presbyterian Church\, Reno\, NV 89509 \n\n\n\nIncline VillageDate: Saturday\, October 10\, 2026Time: 6:30 PM – 8:30 PMLocation: Cornerstone Community Church\, Incline Village\, NV 89451 \n\n\n\nCarson CityDate: Sunday\, October 11\, 2026Time: 3:00 PM – 5:00 PMLocation: Sierra Lutheran High School\, Carson City\, NV 89705 \n\n\n\nAbout TOCCATA \n\n\n\nThe Tahoe Symphony Orchestra & Chorus brings quality\, affordable classical performances to the greater Reno-Tahoe area\, featuring approximately 160 local and guest artists each year who showcase their talents in this remarkable mountain setting. TOCCATA is celebrating its 22nd season of vocal symphonic performances in the Reno/Tahoe area\, now under the direction of Hannah von Wiehler\, Artistic Director & Principal Conductor.

Her expressive vocals and authentic approach make her a natural fit for an evening celebrating some of the most influential women in music. \n\n\n\n“Kathleen Grace is a perfect fit for this concert and complements the talents and legacy of the legendary divas of yesteryear\,” Johnson said. \n\n\n\nThe evening’s setlist will include such favorites as “You Make Me Feel So Young\,” “Pennies From Heaven\,” “Time After Time\,” “Chega de Saudade” and “Almost Like Being in Love.” \n\n\n\nJohnson will lead the 17-piece Reno Jazz Orchestra in an evening designed for longtime jazz fans and newcomers alike. The performance begins at 4 p.m. Oct. 11. Tickets are $50 to $60 and include reserved seating. Student tickets are $10 with a current student ID. \n\n\n\nFounded in 1997\, the Reno Jazz Orchestra carries forward the big band tradition shaped by musicians who have performed with artists such as Frank Sinatra\, Elvis Presley and Luciano Pavarotti. The orchestra’s mission is to present exceptional big band performances featuring jazz standards\, contemporary works and selections from the Great American Songbook. \n\n\n\n“Divas of Jazz” offers an opportunity to hear these timeless songs performed by a full big band while celebrating the remarkable women whose voices continue to define jazz.

SUMMARY:Exhibit Opening - Layers of Re-iteration: The Long Conversation
DESCRIPTION:Layers of Re-iteration: The Long Conversation is the second chapter of an evolving exhibition inspired by the enduring legacy of Galen Brown and Jim McCormick. Moving beyond tribute\, it follows the quiet passage of ideas across our community\, revealing how artistic lives continue through shared conversations\, generous mentorship\, and the countless creative exchanges that ripple outward long after the maker has left the room. \n\n\n\nAt the heart of that legacy was the Printmakers’ Conspiracy\, a loosely organized collective founded by Candace Garlock\, Jim McCormick and Nolan Preece that brought artists together through exhibitions\, collaboration\, and an unwavering commitment to one another’s practices. More than a printmaking group\, it became a creative ecosystem where friendships were forged\, ideas were tested\, and artistic voices found encouragement. The Long Conversation extends that spirit\, celebrating not only the work of two remarkable artists but the living community they helped create\, one that continues to inspire new generations of makers. \n\n\n\nAn artists’ reception will be held on September 24\, 5:30-7:30 p.m. The public is invited to meet the artists and enjoy light refreshments. The exhibit is available for view until December 16. The gallery is free and open to the public\, Monday to Friday 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Located in the Bristlecone Building on the Carson City Campus\, 2201 West College Parkway\, Carson City.

SUMMARY:A History Program - Soiled Doves of the Silver State
DESCRIPTION:This engaging slideshow program explores the complex and often controversial history of legalized prostitution in Nevada—a subject woven deeply into the state’s social and economic fabric. Through detailed research and rare historical images\, the Woodruffs trace the evolution of Nevada’s brothel laws and the communities that shaped them\, introducing some of the more colorful figures who left their mark on this unique chapter of Western history. Balancing humanity\, and historical insight\, local historians David & Gayle Woodruff offer a thoughtful look at how Nevada’s pragmatic approach to vice became a fascinating study in moral and legal compromise. Carson City Senior Center 911 Beverly Dr\, Carson City\, NV.The program is free and no reservations are required. Call David at 760 920-8061 for more information.
