DESCRIPTION:Nevada History Takes Center Stage in CCHS Fall Series \n\n\n\nThe Carson City Historical Society is kicking off an exciting lineup of fall programs featuring Nevada history\, notorious characters\, ghostly tales and stories pulled straight from the pages of the Nevada Appeal. \n\n\n\nFirst up is Glen Whorton on Saturday\, September 26\, from 1–3 p.m. at the Carson City Senior Center’s Nevada Room. Back by popular demand\, Whorton will present “Nevada’s Most Notorious Prisoners: The Dark Side of Nevada’s Past.” \n\n\n\nA former Director of the Nevada Department of Prisons with 32 years in the Department of Prisons/Corrections\, Whorton takes audiences behind the walls of Nevada’s prison system with true stories of infamous inmates\, dangerous criminals and lessons from Nevada history that still resonate today. \n\n\n\nThe fall series continues with: \n\n\n\nSaturday\, October 17\, 1–3 p.m. — Janice Oberding: “Things That Go Bump in Nevada” at the Carson City Senior Center\, Nevada Room. \n\n\n\nFriday\, October 23\, 6:30 p.m. — Stephen H. Provost & Sharon M. Provost: “Nevada Nightmares” at the Foreman-Roberts House Museum’s Carriage House\, 1207 N.
