BBVs original music is rooted in storytelling and pays honor to a uniquely New Orleans sound while infusing an indie flavor that leaves a lasting mark on listeners. This band’s songs are joyous\, fierce\, honest and heartbreaking as they chronicle life and all it entails through the sounds of the minor keys. \n\n\n\nBon Bon Vivant has been playing music together since 2013\, formed in the French Quarter of New Orleans. BBV is lead by married musicians: songwriter /front-woman Abigail Cosio and Saxophonist/ vocalist Jeremy Kelley. The couple met in 2004\, and began playing music together in and around the Los Angeles local music scene\, performing at venues like the Hotel Cafe and The Silverlake Lounge. In 2009 they moved to New Orleans\, eventually forming Bon Bon Vivant from the community of musicians they met living in New Orleans. Abigails songwriting has reflected their life together in its many iterations\, a form of personal storytelling through this 20 year union. The bands unique instrumentation is also a thing to watch and leaves listeners reaching to identify what kind of music they are hearing. Doors open at 6:30 pmDayton Valley Community Center(170 Pike Street at Logan\, Old Town Dayton) \n\n\n\nThe August event from the Historical Society of Dayton Valley will be a lecture of great interest to explorers\, hikers\, ghost town seekers\, railfans\, historians\, and archaeologists. The information and photographs from the talk will cover the historic sites of the Carson & Colorado Railroad (and later Southern Pacific Co.) from the beginning of the line at Mound House\, Nevada\, to the yards and operations center at Hawthorne in Mineral County. It will explore the lost traces of the original alignments through modern communities\, small villages\, ghost towns\, and desert valleys. A corresponding guidebook is underway for future publication. Lawrence E. Meeker is a photographer\, guide\, explorer\, historian and author. He earned a Master’s degree in Engineering from the University of Nevada. During his 40-year career\, he planned\, designed\, maintained\, and managed the construction of bridges\, railroads\, and highways across the western USA. His background includes 20 years as a photography volunteer at local museums\, where he helped them acquire and process major collections for their archives.

DESCRIPTION:This Wednesday\, Canyon Club is featuring Harmony Love. Drop on in and check it out! Attendance is free. Show starts at 3:00. Doors open at 1pm.Canyon Club is a live taping of Canyon White interviewing a different local musician each session. There’s lots of music being performed during this hour-long show as well as some lively conversation with the local talent. The recording is then broadcast at a later date (after the editing is completed) on KNVC 95.1\, Carson City’s local community radio station. The attendance is free so drop on in sometime and join in the fun.Our goal is to have a live audience during the recording for the interaction it will provide when the show is aired on the radio.
