The Sierra Nevada Forums\, in partnership with the AAUW Capital Branch and League of Women Voters of Northern Nevada will host “A Conversation About Fraud” a panel discussion on Tuesday February 10 at the Brewery Arts Center Performance Hall\, 511 W King St in Carson City. Doors open at 5:30 pmand the program starts at 6 pm. The Nevada Appeal and KUNR are the media co-sponsors. This is the fifth forum of the eleventh season of free community forums on topics of current interest. The forum will be moderated by Tabitha Mueller of the Nevada Independent. Panelists include Timothy Johnston of the Better Business Bureau Northern Nevada; Mark Krueger from the Bureau of Consumer Protection in the Office of the Attorney General; Riley Franco\, Director of Consumer Protection for AARP Nevada; and Ken Furlong\, Carson City Sheriff.Together\, they will discuss the most common scams currently being used\, how fraudsters target individuals\, what to do if you have been affected\, and steps you can take to reduce your risk in the future.
