O’Keeffe once said she painted flowers large “so that people would take time to look at them.” Through guided instruction\, you’ll do just that: slow down\, observe deeply\, and translate the flower’s lovely curves and subtle shifts in light into translucent watercolor layers. Dana Childs seeks to inspire painters as well as inform and encourage them. DESCRIPTION:For the past three years\, Timbers Saloon in Carson City\, Nevada has hosted The Bette M. Larsen Memorial Golf Tournament to raise money for post high school vocational scholarships for Carson High School students in Bette’s honor. Bette was the owner of Timbers Saloon for almost thirty years before her passing in 2021. She hosted golf tournaments for most of those years\, donating to various charitable causes\, and for the last several years she provided these scholarships to our local students with 100% of the proceeds going to the students. For the last three years our golf tournaments have been a huge success\, raising enough money to provide 24-$1000 scholarships in the last three years! We hope these scholarships will be a meaningful steppingstone for our students\, through hard work\, to enter trades that benefit our community.
