DESCRIPTION:Nevada State Railroad Museum\, Carson City to Host  \n\n\n\nInaugural Motor Car Rally \n\n\n\nThree-day Labor Day weekend celebration will feature historic motor car rides\, visiting motor cars from museums across the West\, live music\, and family activities. \n\n\n\nCARSON CITY\, Nev. (Aug. 20\, 2026) — The Nevada State Railroad Museum\, Carson City will host its inaugural Motor Car Rally from Saturday\, Sept. 5 through Monday\, Sept. 7\, 2026\, bringing together a unique collection of historic and replica motor cars from across the West to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the museum’s Tucson\, Cornelia & Gila Bend No. 401 Edwards Car. \n\n\n\nThe three-day Labor Day weekend celebration will run from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.daily and will feature historic motor car rides\, behind-the-scenes tours\, food trucks\, live music\, and more. The event offers visitors a rare opportunity to see and ride a variety of historic motor cars gathered together in one location. \n\n\n\nThe rally will bring together a unique collection of historic and replica motor cars from across the West\, including Rio Grande Southern Galloping Goose No. 7 from the Colorado Railroad Museum\, Death Valley Railroad Brill Motor Car No. 5 from Laws Railroad Museum & Historic Site\, Motor Car Sarah Kidder from the Nevada County Narrow Gauge Museum\, and replicas of Virginia & Truckee Motor Car No. 24 and Nevada Central Motor Car 107-C. Select motor cars will be available for rides throughout the event\, giving visitors the opportunity to experience these historic vehicles firsthand.  \n\n\n\nIn addition to motor car rides\, the event will feature behind-the-scenes Annex tours\, food trucks\, live music in the park\, and other family-friendly activities throughout the weekend. \n\n\n\nAdmission is $25 for adults\, $15 for children ages 4 to 17\, and free for children ages 3 and younger. One wristband provides access to all event activities for the day. Wristbands can be purchased online or in person. Carson Street\, inside the Carson Nugget. Gina’s is a smoke-free\, climate-controlled venue\, and has a well-stocked bar and specialty cocktails. The music is free; requested donation is $10. \n\n\n\n“With Flying Colors” features the 17-member band playing swinging songs on the theme of the evening\, several featuring vocalist Jakki Ford. Poets will present poems that each express an aspect of the theme\, followed by a tune that relates to the poem. DESCRIPTION:Douglas County Rodeo Returns with New Events\, Live Music\, and Community Giving \n\n\n\nGardnerville\, NV (July 21\, 2026) — The Douglas County Rodeo returns September 11–12\, 2026\, with its biggest celebration yet\, expanding beyond rodeo weekend into a month of western events\, live entertainment\, community giving\, and family friendly experiences. Douglas County Rodeo Stampede at the Douglas County Fairgrounds featuring flat track motorcycle racing\, including youth\, vintage\, amateur\, professional\, and Hooligan classes\, along with the fan favorite Outlaws vs. First Responders race.\n\n\n\nLive entertainment\, food vendors\, local businesses\, and family friendly activities.\n\n\n\nTattoo Show by Rice Street Tattoo showcasing talented tattoo artists and live tattooing.\n\n\n\n\nFriday\, September 11 \n\n\n\n\nDouglas County Rodeo Golf Roundup at Carson Valley Golf Course.\n\n\n\nOpening night of the Douglas County Rodeo featuring rodeo competitions\, Mutton Bustin’\, Kids Day activities\, food and retail vendors\, community exhibits\, and the Tattoo Show by Rice Street Tattoo.\n\n\n\nLive concert following the rodeo featuring Redferrin.\n\n\n\nPatriot night – attendees wear red\, white\, and blue.\n\n\n\n\nSaturday\, September 12 \n\n\n\n\nSecond night of rodeo action featuring family entertainment\, vendors\, community exhibits\, the Tattoo Show by Rice Street Tattoo\, and western traditions.\n\n\n\nLive concert following the rodeo featuring Casey Donahew.\n\n\n\n\nSunday\, September 13 \n\n\n\n\nCowboy Church inside the Douglas County Rodeo arena\, led by Pastor Rich Lammay of High Sierra Fellowship.\n\n\n\n\nThroughout the rodeo weekend\, this year’s theme\, “Honoring Our Heroes\,” will pay tribute to military members\, veterans\, first responders\, and their families while remembering the lives forever changed by September 11 through special ceremonies and patriotic moments woven into each night’s programming. \n\n\n\nGiving back remains at the heart of the Douglas County Rodeo. This year\, the organization will donate $7\,000 to the Douglas County Community Services Foundation.
