For more information on Christmas on the Comstock events\, head here.  \n\n\n\n“Christmas on the Comstock is a time for our community to truly shine with exciting holiday events happening all month long\,” said Todd Tuttle\, tourism director. “From the lights that line C Street to the traditions that bring our community together year after year\, Christmas on the Comstock offers countless ways to celebrate\, reflect and believe again.” \n\n\n\nThe season officially begins on Friday\, Dec. 5\, with the annual Christmas Tree Lighting at dark in the Bucket of Blood parking lot. Families and visitors can enjoy an evening filled with carols as the town’s holiday lights are illuminated. The fun continues Dec. 6\, with the Grinch Made Me Do It Saloon Crawl\, where participants 21+ can sample holiday-themed cocktails at local saloons from 1-5 p.m. That night\, the Parade of Lights takes over C Street at 5 p.m. This family-friendly event features a lighted parade with floats\, as well as Magic Christmas Fireworks\, proudly supported by Palace Restaurant and Saloon. On Saturday\, Dec. 13\, the Parade of Lights returns\, followed by the Christmas Drone Show by Sky Elements at 6 p.m.The event offers a stunning aerial display featuring hundreds of drones creating festive images in the night sky.  \n\n\n\nThroughout the month\, Virginia City shops will participate in a town-wide holiday decorating contest\, lighting up the streets with creative and festive displays. The Storey County Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring a gingerbread house competition\, where the public can vote on their favorite gingerbread house creation by visiting the many shops throughout town. Guests are also encouraged to shop between Dec. 1 and Dec. 22 to enter the Believe Again Christmas Cheer Shopping Giveaway\, where every $25 spent earns a chance to win one of three one-night stays plus an Adventure Pass for two. From Dec. 6 through Dec. 20\, visitors can hop aboard the Virginia & Truckee Railroad for the Candy Cane Express. This magical train rides through the scenic Comstock landscape\, offering festive views\, hot cocoa and visits with Santa Claus. Visitors can also shop for unique gifts at St. Mary’s Art Center’s 11th annual Holiday Faire and the Senior Center Craft Fair both on Dec. 6and Dec. 7\, where over 30 artisans will showcase handmade items perfect for the holiday season. The Forever Christmas Shop located on C Street will be open throughout the month for the perfect holiday gift and the streets of Virginia City will be adorned with holiday decorations\, providing a backdrop for shopping\, dining and strolling throughout the town. \n\n\n\nFor those seeking immersive experiences\, the Mackay Mansion will offer Christmas Candlelight Tours and holiday-themed Paranormal Investigations where visitors can explore the mansion’s rich history amid holiday décor. With multiple dates throughout the month\, Piper’s Opera House presents a holiday performance of “Miracle on C Street.” On Dec. 14\, The ‘Rat Pack Returns’ for a special performance at the Gold Hill Hotel. The First Presbyterian Church also welcomes guests on Dec. 16 from 6-8 p.m. to its traditional Boar’s Head Feast\, a medieval-themed dinner with live entertainment.
