“What Happens When We Feel Understood” — Guest Speaker: Kristen Ivey
For more than 20 years, Kristen Ivey has worked with shelter dogs and family pets whose behavior was often misunderstood. Along the way, she discovered that the lessons weren’t only about dogs—they were about people, too. Kristen will share stories from both sides of the leash.
Kristen Ivey is the Founder and Executive Director of Canine Rehabilitation Center and Cat Sanctuary (CRCCS) in Washoe Valley, NV. With 20 years of experience in canine behavior and shelter rehabilitation, she founded CRCCS in 2011 to give misunderstood and overlooked dogs a second chance. Her work offers a unique perspective on the relationship between people and animals.

CONNECTIONS mission is simple but powerful: to bring people together for meaningful, in-person conversations and to create space for sharing life experiences. Each gathering is a welcoming space where participants can share from their heart and listen with an open mind.
What unfolds in these gatherings is something truly impactful. People share, listen deeply, laugh, and reflect. Participants gain insight from a wide range of life experiences and perspectives, often very different from their own. Many leave feeling inspired, uplifted, and more connected.
