Teacups, Tulips, and Victorian Charm: Carson City Hostorical Society Hosts Spring tea on April 11th

April 11 @ 1:00 pm 3:00 pm

The Carson City Historical Society invites the community to step back into the grace and elegance of the 19th century at “Teacups & Tulips,” a delightful Victorian Tea to be held Saturday, April 11, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the Carriage House of the Foreman-Roberts House Museum, located at 1207 N. Carson Street in Carson City.

This charming spring gathering will evoke the refinement of a traditional Victorian afternoon reception. Guests will enjoy a leisurely tea service featuring a selection of fine teas, freshly baked scones served with clotted cream, lemon curd, and preserves, along with an assortment of savory finger sandwiches and cakes prepared in the spirit of a proper 19th-century tea table.

“Our Victorian teas are a delightful chance to slow down for an afternoon,” said Liz Cain, President of the Carson City Historical Society. “The Carriage House fills with fresh flowers, fine china, tea, delicate finger sandwiches, cake, and good conversation.”

Following the tea, guests will be invited to enjoy a guided tour of the historic Foreman-Roberts House Museum, offering a glimpse into Carson City’s early days and the lives of the families who helped shape the community.

Victorian attire is warmly encouraged for those who wish to embrace the spirit of the occasion, though it is certainly not required.

Reservations are required, as seating is limited. Tickets are $50 per person and may be purchased at CCHistorical.org. For additional information, please call 775-315-9111.

“Teacups & Tulips” is the first in the Carson City Historical Society’s Victorian Tea Series. The series will continue with the Mayfair Tea on Saturday, May 16, and the playful Midsummer Mischief Tea on Saturday, June 13. Reservations for these upcoming teas will open soon.

The Carson City Historical Society is a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving and sharing the rich history of Carson City through educational programs, community events, and stewardship of the Foreman-Roberts House Museum.
