Sierra Nevada Forum on “How Care is Evolving: Personalized Targeted Treatments” is November 11th at the BAC

The Sierra Nevada Forums, in partnership with the AAUW Capital Branch and League of Women Voters of Northern Nevada will host “How Cancer Care Is Evolving: Personalized Targeted Treatments” a panel discussion on Tuesday November 11 at the Brewery Arts Center Performance Hall, 511 W King St in Carson City. Doors open at 5:30 pm and the program starts at 6 pm. The Nevada Appeal and KUNR are the media co-sponsors. This is the third forum of the eleventh season of free community forums on topics of current interest. 
The forum will be moderated by Timothy McFarren MD, Obstetrician/Gynecologist, Carson City. Panelists include Ragneel Bijjula, MD, Medical Oncology/Hematology, Carson Tahoe Health; Lindsey Foxen R.N., Oncology Nurse Navigator, Carson Tahoe Health; Lee Schwartzberg MD, Chief of Medical Oncology and Hematology, Pennington Center Institute at Renown Health and Professor of Clinical Medicine at the University of Nevada , Reno. 
This forum will feature a discussion on the latest screening available for early detection of disease and precision oncology which uses genetic, molecular, and cellular information to tailor treatments specifically to the patient’s needs. By analyzing the unique characteristics of each cancer, physicians can select therapies that are more likely to be effective, minimizing unnecessary side effects and improving outcomes.
Time is reserved for written questions from members of the audience. No large bags at the event please.
