Pool, Darts, Live Music and Raffles Fundraiser Planned to Support Assault Victim Cindy Dunlap’s Recovery | Saltwater Tavern

The Carson City community is invited to come together in support of local resident Cindy Dunlap at a fundraising event on Saturday, June 27, 2026, beginning at noon at Saltwater Tavern, located at 306 E. William Street in Carson City.
The fundraiser will feature pool and dart tournaments, live music, raffle prizes, a 50/50 drawing, and hot dogs available throughout the day for donations. All proceeds will go directly toward helping Cindy with medical expenses and living costs as she continues her recovery following a violent assault.
On May 17, 2026, Cindy was the victim of a violent assault that resulted in serious injuries requiring a four-day hospital stay. Since then, she has undergone orthopedic surgery, treatment from an eye specialist, and ongoing care from multiple medical professionals. The physical, emotional, and financial impact has been significant.
Unable to return to work since the incident, Cindy currently has no employment income while facing mounting medical expenses. Although she has health insurance, she remains responsible for deductibles, co-pays, medications, and other out-of-pocket costs associated with her recovery.
Event activities include:
• Pool Tournament – Sign up by noon, $20 buy-in, includes two select drinks
• Dart Tournament – Sign up by noon, $20 buy-in, includes two select drinks
• Live Music by Ev Musselman from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m.
• Raffle Prizes
• 50/50 Drawing
• Hot Dogs Available All Day for Donations
“As Cindy focuses on healing, we hope the community will come together to help ease some of the financial burden she faces,” said organizers. “Every contribution, no matter the amount, makes a difference and allows Cindy to focus on recovery rather than worrying about bills and lost income.”
