Web: https://silvercitynevada.com/ The Silver City Preservation Society, Silver City Arts, Evangeline Presents and Yellow Truck Productions are excited to present the first concert in the 2026 Roots Music Masters Concert Series featuring the Outlaw Folkers on May 2 at the historic Silver City Schoolhouse. Hailing from Lake Tahoe, the Outlaw Folkers are high energy folk/Americana trio of good friends, singer-songwriter Darren Senn and Fiddlin’ Jenni Charles & Jesse Dunn of the beloved genre bending band Deadwinter Carpenters. Crossing paths for the first time at a music festival in the Northern California hills, Jenni (fiddle/vocals) and Jesse Dunn (guitar/vocals) set off on a musical journey that has spanned nearly a decade. Intertwining elements of folk, classic country, bluegrass and rock, the duo performs diverse sets that are both engaging and endearing. Their songwriting and vocal harmonies bend the ear and settle within the soul. Together, Jenni and Jesse spawned North Lake Tahoe based 5-piece bluegrass rockers Dead Winter Carpenters who continue to record and tour nationally today. Some call Darren Senn the Songwriter Laureate of the Comstock for how often he plays in Virginia City and Silver City, his love of the history, not to mention a couple of stays in the Storey County Jail. Darren grew up in Eugene, Oregon but has lived at Lake Tahoe for decades. He came for the skiing, and like so many, stayed and made his home in Stateline, Nevada. Darren is a Texas Hold’em poker dealer and a songwriter by trade. Darren writes about fascinating characters, history and places as well as personal and human struggles. His songs are well crafted, poignant and sometimes hilarious. +++ The Roots Music Masters series is carefully curated to present the finest songwriters and musicians. They are decorated, lauded and distinguished but you might only rarely, if ever, get a chance to see them at another venue in Northern Nevada. The series offers the audience a unique and intimate listening experience in a beautiful, and historic venue. It is designed to elevate songwriting and bring world class artists to Northern Nevada’s small Comstock communities and invite people from all over the region to experience the magic. |
