First Public Showing: Experience R. Merle Trehal’s Wild, Wild, West…Nevada Style!

October 24 @ 1:00 pm 3:00 pm

Carson City, NV — For the very first time, the public is invited to experience the dramatic charcoal
murals of Nevada artist R. Merle Trehal, presented by the Carson City Historical Society. The special
exhibit will open on Friday, October 24, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. in the Carriage House, adjacent to the
Foreman-Roberts House Museum, 1207 North Carson Street. Admission is free, light refreshments will
be served, and donations are encouraged to support the Society’s preservation and education efforts.
Trehal’s large-scale works were originally created for the Nevada Appeal during the United States
Bicentennial, capturing the “Wild, Wild West—Nevada Style!” and the enduring promise of the Great
American Dream. In perfect harmony with this year’s Nevada Day theme, the exhibit offers a timely and
powerful glimpse into the state’s frontier heritage through the eyes of one of Nevada’s most distinctive
artists. Visit CCHistorical.org for more information or call Liz Cain 775-315-9111.
