Family Owned Disc Golf Shop Hosts MVP Circuit Challenge at Carson Ridge Course

Carson City’s own family-run disc golf shop, Wild About Discs LLC, is proud to announce a community disc golf event at the Carson Ridge Disc Golf Course. As a locally owned and operated small business, Wild About Discs has been steadily growing into a hub for disc golf enthusiasts in northern Nevada. This event marks an exciting step in their mission to promote the sport and bring people together through active, family-friendly recreation.
The upcoming event, hosted at Carson Ridge Disc Golf Course, is open to players of all skill levels. Whether you’re a seasoned disc golfer or brand new to the game, this is a perfect opportunity to come out, enjoy the outdoors, meet fellow disc golfers, and support a local small business that’s passionate about growing the sport in our area.
“Carson Ridge is a beautiful and challenging course that showcases what makes disc golf so special,” says Garrett Bowden, owner of Wild About Discs. “We’re excited to host something that brings our local community together and helps introduce new players to the sport we love.”
Wild About Discs LLC opened its doors with a vision to make disc golf more accessible to the Carson City community. With a physical storefront located at 1801 E William St, Building E, the shop offers a wide selection of discs, gear, and guidance for beginners and competitive players alike. The business is run by the Bowden family, who have poured their time and energy into creating a welcoming space where the local disc golf scene can thrive.
The event will be an official MVP Circuit Challenge, featuring one round of 27 holes played exclusively with the three discs each player receives upon registering. This tournament-style format offers a fun and competitive way to test new plastic, challenge your skills, and see how everyone fares using the same gear. It’s a great opportunity for both seasoned disc golfers and curious newcomers to enjoy a structured yet approachable event. All players must register in advance to receive their players pack and reserve a spot.
