Dangberg Historic Park kicks off it’s2025 Youth and Family Events with Kite Flying Weekend

May 11 @ 10:00 am 2:00 pm

Family fun returns to Dangberg Historic Park beginning in May. Kites and cowboys are on the schedule of youth events, joined by new events as well.

A returning favorite event is the Kite Flying Weekend on Saturday – Sunday, May 10 – 11 from 10am until 2pm both days. Cameron and Reina Kauffman of Coolkiter.com will bring their assortment of big and beautiful kites, kites for high wind, and kites for no wind.

The non-profit Friends of Dangberg Home Ranch will give free kites to children to decorate, while supplies last. Children can also enjoy big bubble-making, assembling toy glider planes to fly and keep, and other craft and coloring activities. This event is free for everyone.

This year will feature six events specifically for children, one each month from May through October, and will include an agricultural heritage event, the non-profit Dare To Be A Cowboy, Pony Express history, gardening, and mining. All events will include several activities designed for learning and fun.

During all events, no pets are allowed – certified service animals only. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Guests are welcome to bring a picnic to enjoy as no food or beverages will be sold at these events. All events are held outdoors.
