Reno, NV – The Reno Pops Orchestra invites you to savor the spirit of the American West at a free, family-friendly concert, “Country Stars & Western Skies,” on Saturday, July 12, 2025, at 7:30 PM at the Hawkins Amphitheater at Bartley Ranch.
This program will include music by John Williams, Aaron Copland, and a guest appearance by Reno’s own, “Hall of Fame” 1979 Academy of Country Music Award for New Female Vocalist of the Year, Lacy J. Dalton. The program will also feature a world premiere of Jonathan Sokol’s “After-Glow”—a musical depiction of a 1948 epic poem from Nevada’s past, “The Ballad of Katie Hoskins.”
Under the direction of Conductor and Artistic Director, Dr. Jane K. Brown, the Reno Pops Orchestra has become a mainstay of Reno’s cultural life, delivering free family-friendly performances that have enriched the cultural life of Northern Nevada for more than four decades.
Food trucks are available starting at 5:30 PM, gates open at 6:00 PM, and show starts at 7:00 PM Attendees are welcome to bring lawn chairs and picnic baskets (no glass bottles), or sample from local favorites including Taco T’s, Tap Wagon, Brazilian Gourmet, and Snowie.
