Jimmie “JJ” Walker is an American comedian and actor best known for his iconic role as J.J. Evans on the hit 1970s sitcom “Good Times”. Born on June 25, 1947, in Brooklyn, New York, Walker became a household name with his catchphrase “Dy-no-mite!” which resonated with audiences and became a defining moment of his career. Before landing his role on “Good Times”, Walker had a successful stand-up comedy career, performing in various clubs and comedic timing and helped elevate him to stardom, although he later became somewhat typecast. Despite this, he maintained a presence in comedy, making appearances in films and television throughout the decades, and continued to tour as a stand-up comedian.
