Carson City National Trails Day 2026 Celebration – June 6th

June 6 @ 9:00 am 11:00 am

Join the Carson City Parks, Recreation & Open Space Department, along with Muscle Powered, for a celebration of trails at Ambrose Carson River Natural Area on Saturday, June 6, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., in honor of National Trails Day. The celebration will include a guided hike with discussions about the Carson River, including its history in the community, the critical watershed, floodplains, plants, and wildlife. This event will also feature the Carson Water Subconservancy District and the River Wranglers, offering kid-friendly activities.

National Trails Day is celebrated annually on the first Saturday in June to promote hiking and the importance of trails in communities. Carson City takes huge pride in its extensive trail system. Whether looking to find a waterfall, take a stroll through the cottonwood galleries along the Carson River, searching for views of the historical ranches from atop Prison Hill, looking for the perfect evening mountain bike ride, or wanting to go on the hike of a lifetime by trekking all the way to Canada or Mexico on singletrack, Carson City offers it all.

Carson City Parks, Recreation, and Open Space invites all community members to join this free, fun event to connect, learn, and celebrate.
