Carson City Historical Society Open House February 23rd 2025
February 23, 2025 @ 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm
The Foreman-Roberts House, located at 1207 N. Carson St., will host its first open house this year, taking place on Sunday, February 23rd, from 1-3 p.m. The event will include a complimentary docent-led tour, which will delve into the history of the property and the stories of the Foreman and Roberts families. Historical Society volunteers will share insights into the Roberts family’s connection to Eilley Bowers and the intriguing story of how the house came to Carson City in 1874. Visitors will also have the opportunity to explore the house museum and view artifacts that showcase life in the 1880s through the early 1900s. The Carriage House will be open from 1 to 3 p.m. as well, and light refreshments will be provided. Three exhibits are currently on display in both houses: ‘Northern Nevada Trains,’ ‘The Life and Times of the Robert’s Family,’ and a temporary exhibit honoring Black History Month. This open house event is free and open to the public, with donations appreciated. No reservations are required.
