Carson City Classic Cinema Collective Presents: Classic Sci-Fi Masterpiece 2001: A Space Odyssey to Screen at the Brewery Arts Center

April 30 @ 7:30 pm 10:30 pm

Carson City, NV — Film lovers and science fiction enthusiasts will have a chance to experience one of cinema’s most influential works on the big screen later this month, as 2001: A Space Odyssey returns for a special screening at the Brewery Arts Center.

Presented by Carson City Classic Cinema Collective (C5), the event invites audiences to revisit—or discover for the first time—Stanley Kubrick’s groundbreaking 1968 epic, widely regarded as one of the most important films ever made. Known for its stunning visuals, haunting score, and philosophical exploration of humanity’s place in the universe, 2001 continues to shape the science fiction genre more than five decades after its release.

The screening will take place on Thursday, April 30, in the Brewery Arts Center Performance Hall. Doors open at 7:00 p.m., with the film beginning at 7:30 p.m.

C5 organizers emphasize that the film is best experienced in a communal, theatrical setting—where its immersive sound design and sweeping imagery can be fully appreciated. The event is part of the group’s ongoing mission to celebrate classic cinema while fostering thoughtful discussion among local audiences.

This isn’t just a movie—it’s an experience! Seeing 2001 on the big screen allows audiences to connect with it in a way that simply can’t be replicated at home.

The screening is open to the public and is expected to draw both longtime cinephiles and curious newcomers eager to witness a film that helped redefine what movies could achieve.

For those ready to take the journey, the invitation is simple: see it big—and talk it out.
