Annual Shoe Tree holiday shoe drive, ornament sale fundraiser happening now through Dec. 20
December 9 @ 8:00 am – December 20 @ 5:00 pm

For many, a new pair of shoes is the best Christmas gift imaginable, and this season, you can help make that dream come true for our community members in need!
Shoe Tree Brewing Co. of Carson City and Minden are once again hosting their annual shoe drive and fundraiser for children, teens and seniors in need.
“This year, we’re partnering with the community and the Douglas and Carson City School Districts to identify families who are just one paycheck away from needing resources,” said spokesperson Lezlee Robinson. “These are the families who don’t qualify for assistance, yet still struggle to make ends meet. Knowing they will have the shoes they need — along with everyday essentials like socks and deodorant — can make all the difference in the world.”

The task is simple: head into one of the locations, select a “shoe” from the shoe tree that specifies the brand and size desired, take it to the bartender to check out, then go and shop for the shoe and bring it back to Shoe Tree by Dec. 20, or simply bring in various sizes of snow boots and athletic shoes for ages 7 to 100! Especially vans and UGGs for high school and middle school studnets, and slippers and house shoes for seniors.
Gift cards are also welcome!
“We’ve always seen it as, if we’re going to be in the community and doing business in our community, then it’s our duty to give back and look out for others in the community,” said Co-owner Young said. “That’s what we’ve always wanted to do.”
In addition, they’ll once again be selling ornaments courtesy of Sierra Glass Mill, with all proceeds going to support Austin’s House.
Austin’s House Director Marla Morris said: “Shoe Tree Brewing Company and Sierra Glass Mill help us show the community what ‘a home for every heart’ truly means. Each ornament sold directly supports the care, comfort, and healing we provide to children in crisis. We are deeply grateful for their continued partnership.”
The Carson City Shoe Tree location is 1496 Old Hot Springs Rd. and the Minden location is located at 1758 U.S. Highway 395 N., Suite A.
