Annual Library Gala Supporting the Douglas County Library

Tickets are on sale now for “Books, Boots & Ballads – An Evening of Music with Jakota Wass”, the 3rd Annual Gala fundraiser supporting the Douglas County Public Library. The Gala will be held at the Carson Valley Inn on Saturday, October 4, and will include a no-host cocktail hour, dinner, live and silent auctions, and a live concert with singer-songwriter, Jakota Wass.
General admission tickets are $80 per person. A link to buy tickets online or make a cash donation to support the Gala is available through the library website: library.douglascountynv.gov. Tickets also can be purchased with cash or credit card at the Minden and Lake Tahoe branches of the Douglas County Public Library.
Proceeds from this event will support:
• 2026 Douglas County Reads – A community-wide reading initiative aimed at promoting literacy and engagement through a shared reading experience. This program will feature an author event, discussion groups, and themed activities to bring the book’s themes to life for readers of all ages.
• Music in the Library – A new program offering live music performances, workshops, and interactive events for all ages, bringing the joy of music into the library space and fostering cultural enrichment within the community.
Event organizers invite the public to visit a display of live and silent auction items at the Minden Library throughout the month of September. Among the auction offerings are sports, concert and theatre tickets, golf, wine tasting and dining, hotel stays, gift baskets, and more.
The Friends of the Douglas County Public Library is a non-profit organization that has supported the Douglas County Public Library since 1993. The organization provides funding for library programs and projects to enrich, expand, and enhance what the library has to offer patrons of all ages.
