For 11 years the safest street party in Carson City continued live up to expectations with well over a thousand attending Saturday’s Cops and Kids Sheriff’s Office Open House.
The annual event brings together staff from all departments within the Carson City Sheriff’s Office in a festive atmosphere of games, raffle prizes, information booths and music.
The event featured the sheriff’s office K9 patrol, mounted patrol and motorcycle units, Carson City Dispatch, Special Enforcement Team, stellar squad, a new SWAT unit, representatives from DARE, Nevada Highway Patrol, among others.
The event is coordinated through the Sheriff’s Office, DARE Coordinator Lisa Davis and Carson City Sheriff Ken Furlong with help from the Kiwanis Club, CASA, Navy and Marine Corps, American Family Insurance, Dan Kim-Rock-it Productions, Northern nevada Coin, Benson’s Feed, Emblem Club, Economy Speed Press, the Carson City Downtown Business Association and Liz’s Biz.
