The Carson City Public Works department will be conducting high flow testing of its water system over the next few weeks, a requirement as part of bringing online the new regional water line.

At times water customers may experience some discolored water. This is a result of existing minor sedimentation of very fine particles in the existing water system, not the new water lines, according to a news release.

This should not last more than a day or two. The water is safe to drink and cook with; however, it is recommended that you not do any white laundry when you have discolored water.

If you have any concerns or questions call Carson City Public Works at (77) 887-2355.
