The Carson Senators Cycling club closed out their 2026 campaign on Sunday at the Tahoe-Donner Dash.  Three seniors, including Asa Morway, Brant Reyna, and Oliver Raker rolled up to the start line for the final time.  Senior Riley Kuhlman will don Senator plaid one more time when she lines up for the first ever Western Regionals event taking place in St. George Utah in mid-November.  Riley and many others from the Northern Nevada league will compete against athletes from nine other western leagues at the regional event, including Arizona, Southern California, Northern California, Idaho, Montana, Southern Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, and Utah.  Senators Cycling also recognizes seniors Seth Chalmers, Brooke Landis, and Kai Powers for many wonderful years pedaling for the club.

On Sunday, twelve Senators finished in the top 10.  For the high school boys, the first wave of racers on course, sophomores Jax Huntington (6th) and Fletcher Morway (10th) represented the Senators in the JV category for the final time this season while freshman Jackson Isom crossed the finish line in second in the Level 4 boys category – going five-for-five in podium appearances in 2026.

The high school girls categories saw five Senators cross the finish line in the top 10.  After three laps, Riley had opened up a five and a half minute gap on second place to firmly establish her place on the podium’s top step in the varsity girls category.  In the Level 4 category, four Senators, including Evie Huntington (2nd), Syrae Lenz (5th), Lucy Wacker (8th), and Maddy Cranston (10th) appeared in the top 10.

Three middle school girls categories – levels 1, 2, and 3 – represented the third wave of racers on course for the day.  The Senators cheered two athletes to top 10 finishes, including Clover S. (7th) and Evie Bagley (10th).

First year racer Simon Jarvis, who has been steadily climbing up the Level 2 boys results sheet all season (previously 18th, 12th, and 11th, respectively) saved his best ride for the last race of the season, crossing the finish line well inside the top 10  with a 7th place finish.  Not far behind, second year racer Caleb Giddens, also racing in the Level 2 boys category, hung close to Simon’s wheel finishing in 10th place – marking his first top 10 ride since joining the team in 2025.

Overall season standings also are awarded after the final race of the season and are based on each athlete’s accumulate point total.  Points are earned at each race based on each athlete’s finish in their category.  In 2026, 429 middle and high school athletes competed in the 5 Northern Nevada Interscholastic Cycling League races.
