Sadly, a recent fire in Carson City left both the people and their beloved pets homeless. With no other choice, the family surrendered their feline furbabies to Catmandu to find new homes. The family is devastated, and the cats are still trying to make sense of all the changes, process the trauma of the fire and the aftermath of losing the only home and people they’ve ever known. But these are brave little souls, ready to face the future and find the safe, loving homes they deserve.

All four cats are used to sharing life with other cats, cat-friendly dogs, adults, seniors, and respectful children of all ages. Each has a personality all their own, so there may be a perfect match for your home among them. They are all indoor only cats.
Mufasa, just over a year old, is the youngest of the group. This handsome buff-and-white neutered male has a chill, friendly nature and a clear fondness for affection and attention. He’s happy to welcome a kind human into his orbit.
Dom and Mia are a gorgeous brother-and-sister pair, a little over three years old, who must be adopted together. Both have long gray-and-white coats, adorable faces, and sweet purrsonalities. Dom is the more outgoing of the two, readily asking for pets from anyone nearby. Mia takes her cues from her brother and needs a little time to feel safe, but once she does, she loves attention and affection. Together, they can offer their new family twice the warmth—and help each other feel at home.
Lilo, a two-year-old short-haired tabby, is looking for a quieter kind of home. She can be shy at first, but once she knows and trusts you, her sweet nature shines. Lilo would do best as the only cat, with people who can give her time and a calm place to connect. A busy, bustling household isn’t the right fit for her.
All four cats are spayed or neutered, healthy, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped. They’ve been through a lot in a short time, but with patience and kindness, each is ready to begin again.
If you can open your heart and home to one or more of these sweet survivors, please fill out a pre-adoption application at catmanducc.org, then plan to meet them during Catmandu’s regular adoption hours: Friday through Sunday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 1829 Brown Street in Carson City.
Please arrive by 3 p.m. so you’ll have plenty of time to spend with the cats before adoptions close. One loving home can change everything for a cat—and for the family who welcomes them.
