UPDATE: 3:24 p.m: All residents and animals were safely evacuated from the structure fire Monday afternoon at a Beverly Drive home, according to Carson City Fire Department personnel on scene. The cause is unknown and will be investigated once the scene is safe. People should avoid the area.

Carson City Fire Department and sheriff’s deputies responded Monday afternoon to a structure fire in the 1200 block of Beverly Drive.
Reported just before 3 p.m. dispatch advises the reporting party stated the home is on fire and that dogs were inside. The reporting party said that a man was attempting to go inside the home to retrieve the dogs.
The reporting party then advised the man went inside with a hose. When CCFD arrived, there was light smoke in the home. Firefighters actively fought the fire, which was out at around 3:20 p.m. One person was being evaluated at the scene for injuries.
It is unknown at this time if all dogs were located and rescued. Motorists should stay clear of the area. We will update as information becomes available.
