The final countdown is on for a local food drive benefiting the Northern Nevada Dream Center, and community members throughout Carson City and Douglas County are encouraged to help fill the barrels during the last three days of the drive.
Gentiva Hospice is partnering with the Northern Nevada Dream Center to collect nonperishable food donations to help support local individuals and families in need.
“My name is Nicole Peck, and I am the Manager of Volunteer Services for Gentiva Hospice and the coordinator of this year’s food drive,” Peck said. “I am so excited and honored to have the opportunity to partner with the Northern Nevada Dream Center. They do so much for our community and for our neighbors in need, and we want to make these final six days count.”
The community has already shown tremendous support, and Gentiva Hospice is grateful to everyone who has contributed. With the food drive quickly coming to an end, there is still time for local residents to participate.

Donations may be dropped off Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

“We are incredibly grateful for the community support and for every person who has already donated,” Peck said. “Whether someone donates a single item or fills an entire bag, every contribution adds up and helps the Northern Nevada Dream Center continue supporting our neighbors. We would love to see our community come together for one final push and fill these barrels during our last (few) days.”
The food drive is an opportunity for Carson City and surrounding communities to make a tangible difference close to home while supporting an organization dedicated to helping Northern Nevada residents in need.
There are only few days left — so clean out the pantry, pick up a few extra nonperishable items on your next grocery trip, and help us finish strong for the Northern Nevada Dream Center!
