The president of the Historic Virginia & Truckee Trail will provide a short history of the Virginia & Truckee Railroad, the National Rails to Trails Movement and the early history of northwestern Nevada. How developing the Historic Virginia & Truckee Trail (Rail Trail) can impact outdoor recreation, tourism, public health, alternative transportation and community planning to connect the five counties (Washoe, Carson, Lyon, Storey, Douglas) together. The event is hosted by Truckee Meadows Community College at Meadowood Center 5270 Neil Rd., Reno.
