Good morning, star seekers. Monday opens with a surprisingly useful mix of restraint and opportunity. Mercury in Leo forms a steady trine with retrograde Saturn in Aries, favoring conversations that have enough backbone to survive scrutiny, while Venus in her own sign of Libra reaches toward generous Jupiter in Leo and offers a little more goodwill than the week might otherwise deserve.

By Wednesday evening, however, the Moon reaches First Quarter in Scorpio, traditionally one of the Moon’s more difficult signs, and whatever began under last week’s Leo New Moon may meet its first real test. Friday’s opposition between Venus and Saturn asks relationships, finances and agreements to prove they can carry their own weight. Then, Saturday evening, the Sun leaves Leo for Virgo and the emphasis shifts from bold beginnings toward the practical work required to keep them alive.

Think less about making an impression and more about whether the gate still swings properly once everyone has gone home.

Aries

There is plenty of life in your creative and romantic sector this week, and Monday may bring support from a partner, friend or collaborator who understands what you are trying to build. Wednesday’s First Quarter Moon, however, turns the conversation toward shared money, obligations, trust or something that cannot be handled by enthusiasm alone. If there is a debt, agreement or emotional bargain sitting underneath the larger plan, bring it into daylight. Friday’s Venus-Saturn opposition runs directly across your relationship axis and may test how much compromise is reasonable before it becomes self-erasure. Mars in your home sector can make family matters run hotter than usual, so resist fighting three battles because one cupboard door came off its hinge. By the weekend, Virgo season begins to favor better routines, cleaner systems and work that actually makes daily life easier.

Taurus

Home and family remain active territory, with Mercury and Jupiter encouraging a larger conversation about where and how you want to live. Yet Wednesday’s First Quarter Moon falls across the partnership side of your chart, making another person’s needs difficult to ignore. A relationship, contract or close collaboration may need a decision rather than another round of polite postponement. Venus, your ruling planet, is strong in your work and health sector, but Friday’s opposition to Saturn warns against solving every problem by simply taking on more. Rest has a cost when neglected, too. By Saturday evening, the Sun enters your sector of creativity, romance and children, giving the week a lighter ending and reminding you that not everything worthwhile has to be efficient.

Gemini

Monday favors serious conversations, writing, planning and agreements that need both imagination and structure. Mercury, your ruler, works well with Saturn, making this a useful day to put a proposal into words or turn a loose idea into something other people can actually follow. The First Quarter Moon on Wednesday brings pressure around work, health and everyday responsibilities, and a small neglected problem may suddenly demand more attention than expected. Meanwhile, Mars continues through your financial sector, where impatience can become expensive if you mistake urgency for necessity. Friday may force a choice between personal enjoyment and obligations to friends or a larger group. When the Sun enters Virgo Saturday evening, attention turns toward home, family and the private foundation underneath everything else you are trying to accomplish.

Cancer

Money and self-worth continue to occupy a larger share of the sky for you, and Monday may bring a useful conversation about income, pricing or a plan that has more potential than you initially thought. Mars is moving through your sign, however, and traditional astrology does not consider Mars particularly comfortable in Cancer. The temptation is to act from irritation first and explain later. Wednesday’s First Quarter Moon lands in your sector of creativity, romance and children, where something that began as an idea may now require a real commitment. Friday brings a sharper question between home and career: how much can one side of life demand before the other starts paying the bill? By the weekend, Virgo season moves the emphasis toward communication, paperwork, neighbors and the practical details that help restore order.

Leo

The sky is still crowded in your sign, and Monday offers one of the better opportunities of the week to make a case for yourself. Mercury’s trine to Saturn can turn confidence into credibility, while Venus and Jupiter favor helpful introductions, agreeable conversations and people who are more inclined to hear you out. Wednesday’s First Quarter Moon draws attention toward home, family or property, however, and may remind you that a public plan still has to work in private. Friday can bring tension between the immediate facts and a larger belief, travel plan or educational commitment; avoid defending an old position simply because you once defended it well. The Sun leaves your sign Saturday evening and enters your financial sector. The spotlight shifts from who you are becoming to what that new direction is actually worth—and what it will cost to sustain.

Virgo

This week begins behind the scenes. Mercury, your ruler, forms a constructive aspect to Saturn Monday, making it easier to deal privately with an obligation, financial matter or concern that benefits from careful thinking rather than public discussion. Wednesday’s First Quarter Moon brings messages, paperwork, errands, siblings or local matters into sharper focus, and something seemingly minor may require a firmer answer. Venus is strong in your money sector, which can help you recognize value more clearly, but Friday’s opposition to Saturn puts personal resources and shared obligations on opposite sides of the table. Read the terms carefully. Saturday evening, the Sun enters your sign and the emphasis changes noticeably. After several weeks of preparation and quiet sorting, it becomes easier to decide what deserves your name on it.

Libra

Venus is at home in your sign, giving you greater ability to negotiate, attract support and smooth rough edges without giving away the store. Monday is especially favorable for working with friends, organizations or people connected to a larger goal. Wednesday’s First Quarter Moon moves the issue toward money and personal priorities: enthusiasm from the group is useful, but somebody eventually has to know what the plan costs. Friday’s Venus-Saturn opposition falls directly across the partnership axis and may bring an agreement, relationship or collaboration to a sober checkpoint. That does not automatically mean trouble; sometimes a good structure simply needs clearer terms. Mars remains active at the top of your chart, keeping career matters busy, while Saturday’s move into Virgo season begins a quieter period of preparation, rest and unfinished business.

Scorpio

Wednesday’s First Quarter Moon occurs in your sign, putting you in the middle of the week’s decision-making rather than safely at the edge of it. Something involving your direction, health, identity or personal responsibilities may have reached the point where observation is no longer enough. Career remains a strong theme, and Monday’s Mercury-Saturn trine favors practical discussions about duties, schedules and what would actually be required to move upward. Support may also arrive quietly through someone who has more influence than they advertise. Friday asks whether work and rest are properly balanced; an obligation that continually consumes private time deserves examination. When the Sun enters Virgo over the weekend, friends, organizations and future plans begin carrying more weight, and the right alliance may matter as much as individual effort.

Sagittarius

The wider world is calling again through travel, education, publishing, law or a long-range plan, and Monday favors serious thinking about how to turn that interest into something durable. A friend, colleague or organization may also open a useful door. Wednesday’s First Quarter Moon, however, takes place in the most private part of your chart and asks for a little quiet before the next push forward. Fatigue, unfinished grief or a problem you have kept out of sight may deserve attention precisely because it has been so easy to postpone. Friday creates tension between group obligations and something more personal involving creativity, romance or children. Do not sacrifice what gives life meaning simply because a committee has a deadline. Saturday’s move into Virgo season shifts the spotlight firmly toward career and reputation, making next week considerably more public.

Capricorn

Friends, organizations and long-range plans reach a turning point Wednesday, particularly where enthusiasm has outrun the practical arrangement underneath it. Monday may bring constructive movement around shared money, family resources, property or another private obligation, and there is room for professional support if you are willing to discuss what is actually needed. Friday is more demanding. Venus at the top of your chart opposes Saturn, your ruling planet, in the home and family sector, putting public responsibilities and private foundations across from one another. A career opportunity may be worthwhile and still require negotiation at home. Mars moving through your partnership sector adds another opinion to the room, so do not mistake volume for authority. By the weekend, Virgo season widens the horizon toward travel, education, publishing or a longer-range solution.

Aquarius

Career and reputation come under Wednesday’s First Quarter Moon, and a project or responsibility may require a visible decision. Partnerships remain active as Mercury and Jupiter travel through Leo, and Monday is well suited to serious agreements, particularly when both sides are willing to define what happens next rather than relying on goodwill alone. Venus supports travel, education and broader perspective, but Friday’s opposition to Saturn exposes the gap between the grand plan and the local details. A trip, legal matter, course of study or publishing project may need better paperwork, clearer communication or a more realistic timeline. Mars continues to put pressure on work and health routines, making efficiency important. When the Sun enters Virgo Saturday evening, shared finances and obligations become the next item requiring closer inspection.

Pisces

Monday is useful for putting structure around work, health or a daily responsibility that has been too loosely managed. Mercury and Saturn favor a practical plan, while Venus and Jupiter may bring assistance through shared resources, benefits or someone willing to make your workload more manageable. Wednesday’s First Quarter Moon pulls attention toward travel, education, publishing, law or a question of belief, and you may need to decide whether the road you are on still leads where you intended. Mars in your creative and romantic sector can add passion, but it can also make small disappointments feel unnecessarily personal. Friday brings finances into sharper relief as Venus opposes Saturn across the personal-versus-shared money axis. By Saturday evening, the Sun enters your partnership sector, beginning a month in which other people—and the agreements you make with them—will matter considerably more.

Guide for Stargazers

Tuesday evening offers the prettiest naked-eye pairing of the week. Look low in the western sky after sunset for bright Venus with the waxing Moon nearby. The Moon reaches First Quarter over Carson City at 7:46 p.m. Wednesday, after which its growing light will increasingly wash out faint stars and deep-sky objects. Early in the week, binocular users can still try for the Great Sagittarius Cluster, M22, above the southern horizon; it appears as a bright, fuzzy ball in binoculars and begins resolving into stars through a modest telescope.

Saturn is becoming much easier to catch without setting an alarm. Look southeast later in the evening for a steady yellow-white point; through a telescope, its rings remain presented at a relatively shallow angle, giving the planet a noticeably different appearance from years when the rings are wide open. Before sunrise, Jupiter continues climbing into better view in the east after its close meeting with Mercury last weekend, while reddish Mars is also part of the morning sky. Venus remains the unmistakable evening beacon, though it rides fairly low over the western horizon.

The Perseids are past their peak but remain active through roughly August 24, so a few stragglers can still streak across the late-night sky. The waxing Moon will make the faint ones harder to see as the week progresses, making earlier nights and the hours after moonset the better bet. And there is a much bigger local event just beyond this week: on Thursday, August 27, a deep partial lunar eclipse will be visible from Carson City. The eclipsed Moon will rise in the east-southeast around 7:29 p.m., with maximum eclipse at 9:12 p.m., when more than 90 percent of the lunar diameter will be inside Earth’s dark shadow.
