Kayak & Art at Washoe Lake
September 28 @ 10:00 am – 1:00 pm
Texture Becoming Form: Kayak + Guided Site-Responsive Drawing Experience
Experience an original outdoor workshop developed for Washoe Lake that invites participants to explore how landscape emerges through surface, pattern, and mark-making.
Bring a picnic or sack lunch. Meet at the MAC (1860 Russell Way)
Ages: adult
Cost: $50
Through guided perceptual exercises and material exploration, participants engage directly with the textures of place and learn how to translate environmental information into structured visual compositions. The workshop emphasizes sensitivity to surface, spatial awareness, and the transformation of observation into form. Rooted in historical frottage practices yet adapted for contemporary field work, this session bridges tradition and site-specific response. Participants leave with a completed landscape study and a deeper understanding of how texture informs structure in drawing.
