A 38-year-old Carson City woman was arrested just after 10:30 p.m. in the 2700 block of North Roop Street for felony burglary of a motor vehicle after deputies were dispatched on report of a suspicious subject.

According to the arrest report, Leilani Johnson was arrested after deputies responded to a call of a subject who was attempting to enter multiple vehicles. 

Upon arrival, deputies observed a woman, later identified as Johnson, standing near a vehicle. When Johnson saw deputies arrive, she allegedly attempted to walk away “at a fast pace” according to the report. 

According to witnesses, Johnson had attempted to gain entry into multiple vehicles, and had climbed into the bed of one witnesses’ truck.  Deputies wrote Johnson had successfully accessed one of two other vehicles the witness observed her attempting to open.  

After accessing one of the vehicles, Johnson allegedly left the the trunk and front passenger door standing open. 

She was detained and placed under arrest for burglary of a vehicle without issue.

—  A 38-year-old Carson City man was arrested just after 6 a.m. in the 3700 block of North Carson Street for trespassing and resisting a public officer after deputies were dispatched on report of a male refusing to leave a business,.

According to the arrest report, the man was inside a convenience store and refusing to leave after being asked to by employees. 

When a deputy arrived on the scene and requested he depart, the man reportedly “silently refused” to move. 

Deputies asked the man to identify himself, which he also refused, according to the report. 

Deputies placed the man under arrest. While being booked at the Carson City Jail, the man identified himself, which was confirmed through his Nevada ID card. 

He was booked for trespassing and resisting a public officer.

— A 52-year-old Carson City man was arrested just after 8:40 a.m. in the 100 block of East Long Street for two extraditable warrants after a deputy observed him sleeping on the sidewalk,.

According to the arrest report, a deputy on patrol observed the man sleeping in front of a local service center. The deputy woke the man to explain that there is a Carson City Municipal Code against sleeping in public or on a sidewalk.

Dispatch advised the man had two outstanding extraditable arrest warrants issued out of Sparks Justice Court. The man was taken into custody and transported to jail without incident.
