UPDATE: An Amber Alert has been issued for a 5-year-old Carson City girl, Amaya Meithof, who was last seen in the area of 2021 Lone Mountain No. 15. She was taken by suspect Christopher Meithof, 41.
The Carson City Sheriff’s Office requested the activation of the Emergency Alert System for the confirmed abduction of the Amaya Meithof.
The suspect is driving a 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee license plate: 576 QNU Oregon plate. The child was last seen Sunday morning, confirmed Carson City Sheriff Ken Furlong. The Amber Alert went out early Monday morning. Suspect Christopher Meithof is 41 years old, white, 6 foot tall and 170 pounds.
The last known direction of travel and possible destination is southbound, Quartz Hill, Calif. The child, Amaya, is known to have common allergies.
