Children and their families grabbed their Easter baskets and filled them up with plenty of goodies Saturday at this year’s Pumpkin, Pioneers and Tall Tales Easter Egg Hunt at the Livermore Sports Complex in Carson City, hosted by Nevada Day, Inc.

With activities beginning at 9 a.m., which included arts, crafts and food vendors, a bounce house, community organization booths, Carson City Fire Department firefighters and Carson City Sheriff’s Office deputies, kids of all ages engaged in the hunts on three ball fields, collecting free toys and candy hidden throughout the hunt area.

This year’s Easter Egg Hunt celebrates the theme “Pumpkin, Pioneers, and Tall Tales,” which also matches the official theme of the 2026 Nevada Day Parade, taking place on Saturday, Oct. 31, 2026. The event serves as an early kickoff to the Nevada Day season and gives families a fun way to start celebrating Nevada’s history, storytelling and community spirit.
