Vivi Mellow.

Most recently as Cadet Lieutenant Commander, Vivi Mellow received the Legion of Valor Bronze Cross of Achievement. This prestigious national award recognizes excellence in the Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps and is presented to cadets who demonstrate outstanding leadership, academics and service. Considered the highest award in JROTC, fewer than 0.01% of all cadets earn the Bronze Cross each year. Cadets are nominated by their Senior Instructor and are then evaluated through a competitive selection process. The Legion of Valor of the United States of America is one of the nation’s oldest military service organizations, composed of Medal of Honor and Service Cross recipients.

Vivi is equally active in HOSA (Future Health Professionals), competing at the national level for three consecutive years. Her achievements include a first-place state finish in forensics and an 11th-place international ranking in CPR and First Aid, reflecting her strong interest in health sciences.

Beyond academics and leadership, Vivi has dedicated herself to giving back, completing over 150 volunteer hours through ROTC, Girl Scouts and community events. Her service includes supporting the Salvation Army, organizing Angel Tree gift drives and volunteering at local elementary schools.

With plans to pursue public health and eventually shape public policy, Vivi Mellow exemplifies what it means to make the most of the high school experience. Her drive, compassion and commitment to excellence have truly distinguished her from her peers. Carson High School is proud of Vivi and looks forward to seeing where the future takes her. Congratulations.
