In loving memory of Carolyn Kay Plannette Kilpatrick (84) a 55-year resident of Carson City, NV who passed away peacefully on December 21, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family.

Born February 17th, 1941, in Santa Clara County, California to Herbert Lloyd and Willie Beatrice Brown Plannette. She was one of 6 siblings.

Carolyn was a graduate of Ventura High School who married Jerry Eugene Kilpatrick, her high school sweetheart, in 1960.

Carolyn was an avid hunter and loved to fish.  She was instrumental in the development and growth of the Gardnerville “Kids Fishing Derby.” She worked for many years for the Douglas County Public Works and for the Nevada Department of Corrections.  At one point, Carolyn was a school bus driver and won awards and recognition in her first year.

Carolyn was an amazing mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great grandmother.  She was known for her compassion, kindness and relentlessness in bargaining at garage sales.  She never met a stranger.

Carolyn is survived by her 3 daughters, Kristi Day Murkovich, Kimberly Kilpatrick McQueary, Kari Rhodes, and her son Geoffrey Rhodes, 5 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.

She was proceeded in death by her husband of 59 years, Jerry Eugene Kilpatrick, her parents, and 3 siblings.
