Fallon to host annual open house and Christmas tree lighting, honoring the America250
FALLON, Nev. (November 25, 2025)—The City of Fallon is excited to invite the community to its 2025 Annual Christmas Open House and Tree Lighting Ceremony, celebrating the holiday season and honoring America250, the upcoming 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.
The festivities will take place on Friday, Dec. 5, at Fallon City Hall and The Douglass House, followed by the annual tree lighting in Fallon’s historic downtown Maine Street. The event will be hosted by Mayor Ken Tedford, Councilwoman Kelly Frost, Councilwoman Karla Kent and Councilman Paul Harmon.
Attendees can enjoy a festive open house featuring refreshments, cookie decorating, caroling and a first glimpse of Santa, as well as the opportunity to meet the city’s department heads and elected officials. The evening will culminate with the lighting of Fallon’s Christmas tree and custom red, white and blue fireworks, creating a magical downtown celebration for families and community members of all ages.
“Few things capture the magic of the holidays like gathering with our community to light Fallon’s iconic Christmas tree,” said Mayor Ken Tedford. “This year, we’re especially excited to feature a gold, illuminated ‘250’ as the tree topper, as well as red, white and blue fireworks, honoring America250. We invite everyone to join us for a night of joy, festive local traditions and a celebration of Fallon’s history, community and holiday spirit.”
For the third year, Fallon will also welcome visitors to Fallon on Ice, the city’s popular outdoor ice rink located at 10 S. Carson Street. Dec. 5 is Onesie Night, a themed evening for all ages. Admission pricing is as follows:
- Children 4 and under: Free
- Kids 5–17 (12 and under accompanied by an adult): $12
- Seniors & Military: $13
- Adults 18 and up: $15
- $3 discount when you bring your own skates
This year’s events also reflect the patriotic spirit of America250. On July 4, 2026, the U.S. will commemorate the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. Fallon is embracing this milestone by highlighting the contributions of Americans past and present and inspiring community engagement in town events through July 2026.
